Application Procedure

An International students seeking admission to different courses in the University of Mysore must first submit an application for assessment of academic eligibility for pursing that course. The guidelines set by the Association of Indian Universities are followed for the assessment of eligibility.

The minimum qualification for different programmes being offered by the University of Mysore is given below:

Undergraduate Courses      : A pass in the + 2 level course (Pre-University or Grade XII as the case may be) equivalent to 12 years of schooling and functional English Course*.
Postgraduate Courses : A pass in a 3 or 4 years Undergraduate Programme offered by a recognized University and functional English Course*.

Ph.D : Pass in two years Master’s Degree in the qualifying subject or an allied subject where inter- disciplinary research is permitted. For being considered for admission to a Ph.D. programme, a candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% in the Master’s degree examination and functional English Course*.
 Postgraduate Diploma                   : Pass in a 3 or 4 years Undergraduate Programme offered by a recognized University and functional English Course*.
Diploma Courses                         : Pass in the +2 level course and functional English Course*.
Certificate Courses                        : Pass in Grade X (10) examination and functional English Course*.




















Note: *One month’s functional English course is for students from non-English speaking countries. Note: The minimum prescribed qualifications for different courses are shown above. International students must possess a valid STUDENT VISA in order to pursue a UG / PG / Diploma./ Certificate Course. For enrolment into a Ph.D. programme a RESEARCH VISA must be procured. Visa regulations do not permit those on tourist or X Visas to pursue any academic programmes.

Applications for assessment of eligibility for foreign students with foreign degree must be accompanied by the following documents (No eligibility assessment and eligibility certificates are required for foreign students with Mysore university degree(s):

  • Duly filled Eligibility Assessment Form
  • Copy of the passport
  • Photocopies of marks transcripts of the cognate examination(Where the marks obtained is not indicated in the form of percentage, a Grade Conversion Table may please be enclosed)/degree certificate is a must
  • Recent Passport size photographs(2).
  • Receipt for having remitted the assessment fee (to be paid vide GRA challan in the State Bank of Mysore, University Campus Branch, Crawford Hall, Mysore). Payment can also be made in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, University of Mysore, Mysore.
