Application Procedure

An International student seeking admission to any course in the University of Mysore must first submit an application for assessment of academic eligibility for pursing that course .The guidelines set by the Association of Indian Universities are followed in the assessment of eligibility.

The minimum entry qualification for different programmes being offered by the University of Mysore is as follows:

Undergraduate Courses      : A pass in the + 2 level course (Pre-University or Grade XII as the case
may be) equivalent to 12 years of schooling

Postgraduate Courses : A pass in a 3 or 4 years Undergraduate Programme offered by a
recognized University

Ph.D : Pass in two years Masters Degree in the qualifying subject or an allied
subject where inter- disciplinary research is permitted. For being
considered for admission to a Ph.D programme, a candidate must have secured a minimum of 55% in the Master’s degree examination

 Postgraduate Diploma                   : Pass in a 3 or 4 years Undergraduate Programme offered by a
recognized University

Diploma Courses                         : Pass in the +2 level course

Certificate Courses                        : Pass in Grade X (10) examination

International students must possess a valid STUDENT VISA in order to pursue a UG / PG / Diploma./ Certificate Course. For enrollment into a Ph.D programme,a RESEARCH VISA must be procured. Visa regulations do not permit those on tourist or X Visas to pursue any academic programmes.

Applications for assessment of eligibility must be accompanied by the following documents:

  • Duly filled Eligibility Assessment Form
  • Copy of passport.
  • Photocopies of marks transcripts of the cognate examination(Where the marks obtained is not indicated in the form of percentage, a Grade Conversion Table may please be enclosed)
  •  Recent Passport size photograph.
  • Receipt for having remitted the assessment fee (to be paid vide GRA challan in the State Bank of Mysore, University Campus Branch, Crawford Hall, Mysore). Payment can also be made in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favor of the Finance Officer, University of Mysore, Mysore (As on today the processing fee for eligibility assessment is Indian Rupees (INR) 1,480 and the fee for obtaining the Certificate of Eligibility is INR 13,500.
